Our Fourth Green Flag!

We've just heard that we’ve been awarded our 4th Green Flag from Eco Schools Scotland. The Green Flag is the top award for an Eco School and we are one of only 5 High Schools in the whole of Scotland to have gained our 4th Green Flag. The assessor was very impressed with the wide range of eco work the school has been doing, particularly towards the Biodiversity and Waste Minimisation topics. We were awarded our Green Flag with no suggestions of improvements which is apparently very rare - so we must be doing something right! Huge congratulations to all the pupils and staff involved over the last two years, in the Eco Committee, Energy Group, Fair Trade Group, Sustainable School Group, John Muir Award Group, Leaders of Positive Change, Junior Award Scheme Scotland, waste audits, litter surveys, awareness raising campaigns and to everyone else who helped us achieve this fantastic award.

We’re already looking to the future and developing exciting ideas for our new Eco School topics - Food and the Environment, Global Citizenship and Litter. We’d love to hear from any parent or carer who would like to get involved in our Eco Schools projects, even in a small way. Please contact Rachel Avery our Eco Coordinator on rachel.avery@currie.edin.sch.uk or phone the school on a Wednesday or Thursday for an initial chat.
