S3 held a mock election on 27 September. Here is a report from Hannah and Amy, two of the S3 pupils involved.
In our S3 Modern Studies class we have been learning about voting. We first learned how people vote and why they vote. We did talks and wrote essays on why people should vote after we had all the knowledge we needed about this. We then spent 3 weeks preparing our own mock election campaign. We worked in groups to create the names and policies for our parties. Standing for election were Brilliant Britain, The Youth Party, The Greenhouse Party, Free Scotland Party, Sports4U and finally United. Each party elected a candidate to represent them and made posters and manifestos to advertise what we were standing for.

Overall it was really fun having a Mock Election and it let us put the things we had learned into practice.
