Prince’s Trust S4 xl Group

This term the S4 xl group are working on a project about our community – ‘Spotlight on Our Place’. They are focussing on Currie and seeing what things may be changed or improved. With our School Link Officer, PC Jimmy Dee, they walked around the Currie shops and surveyed the public on what they thought of the community, what other facilities they would like to have, what they would like to see done with the old primary school, any other improvements they would like, along with some other questions. They are now going to collate all the information and make a presentation of what they have found out.

PC Dee has also worked with the group on self defence and self awareness. He has helped them to know what to do if they ever find ourselves in a confrontational situation. The group also went on a walkabout around Currie with PC Dee. He has shown them how to be more aware of their surroundings and what is going on, and what he may look for as a policeman.
